A brand new goodwill opened in our area yesterday…. I made it in first thing this morning…. Was looking for some tee’s to make into skirts, shorts, and dresses for my daughter. Well I hit a goldmine! I bought about 8 printed t shirts, a pair of tap shoes for my daughter that I was prepared to pay full price for later today..a few wooden shelves for the evolving sewing “studio.”
I was royally shocked when I stumbled across this gem!

It was still in the box…..and I paid…$8.25 for it! YES…just over 8 bucks! I even made sure it ran before we left. I never get this lucky! I have been wanting to buy a back up machine for when times get crazy and I need extra help or to teach my daughter to sew when she is ready…. Granted its not the machine I would have bought brand new..but this is way….way….better!
I have two children, one daughter will be 19 next month and the other is 3. I was young when I had my first daughter and there are clearly things I’d do or I should say I am doing differently this time around.
I have been using my oldest daughters room as my sewing studio. She is living on her own, finding her own way….sometimes its very hard to watch. But, I’m loving her where she is and I know God is giving her the life lessons to form her into the person He has planned for her. She is beautiful and unbelievably creative, an artist really. So, it was a little difficult to break down her bed for storage…
But, I’m also pleased to say necessary because I need a better work space. And that is how we spent my mothers day. We are not quite finished, the stand with the TV and the TV are going….. To be replaced with a smart TV. So that my youngest can stream curious George from Netflix. We removed the closet door intending on purchasing a new one but, I’m thinking of keeping it open or sewing a curtain and putting that up. Eventually, I will need another sewing table, I’d like to purchase a cover hem machine and maybe a embroiderer machine. Time will tell…here are some pictures….
